Weir/Caldwell I
Hey y'all! I am looking for opinions regarding which SGA idea I should pursue for my scifibigbang story. I posted this on my personal journey but thought it was fitting to crosspost to here, since this comm's readers are the prime target for either option. :)

Both will be Weir-centric and have at least some delicious Weir/Caldwell. But I have two ideas and I'm sort of torn between them. So I want your opinions on the ideas and which I should work on for this challenge.

Idea #1, Codename: Seven Wonders
This would be more heavy on the Weir/Caldwell specifically and would go AU somewhere around S3 in terms of canon. The premise would be that, through some calamity, Weir and Caldwell would end up stranded on a planet without a Stargate where they would be forced to acclimate to this new world and basically slowly fall in love as they dealt with the loss of their old lives and began new ones. There would be an eventual circle back to Atlantis and other such happenings in there, too.

Idea #2, Codename: 7of9
The codename from this one comes from my comparison of nanite-infested Weir to 7of9. Anyway, this story would try to stay canon compliant and would be set post-finale. Caldwell and the team discover that Weir was not killed by Oberoth or turned into a replicator but had escaped the Asurans and has been living in exile on a planet in the Pegasus scared to return home for fear she would endanger Atlantis. But even though it is now is safe for her to return since the Asurans have been destroyed, she is faced with distrust and suspicion since her teammates believe that her consciousness is embodied in the a replication of FRAN floating in space.

So thoughts? I like #2 which is newer and canon compliant (and means I have been consuming far more of postS3 SGA than I ever wanted) but I'm worried that making there be three Weirs might be a little too canon-denying on one hand but on the other, I really hate what they did in Ghost in the Machine.

Which one sounds more interesting to y'all? Which would you actually want to read? Etc. and so forth. Any comments relating to one or both of the stories and your preferences thereof are welcome!

Weir/Caldwell I
It's hard to believe how quickly time flies, especially when it comes to fandom. I can't quite believe it's been two years since SGA went off the air and even longer since I posted to this community, which I love quite well!

Lately I've been going through a resurgence of interest in SGA (unbelievable, I know!) and, of course, Weir/Caldwell. pookaseraph and I were thinking about doing an informal rewatch of SGA together; after some discussion, we decided we really wanted to focus on Weir (and Weir/Caldwell) stuff, so our plan is to start with the end of S1 and watch through the end of S3.

Is anyone interested in joining in on the rewatch? We haven't started yet because we're lazy busy, so if anyone else wants to join us, there's still time! If you're interested, we'd love your input on scheduling,

Also, if there are even any of you still out there interested in this pairing (I am!) is there something you'd like to see me do to get this community active again? I'm totally game! Leave me a comment or feel free to PM me.

I am not a huge Weir/Caldwell shipper, tbqh, but I like them okay and I ended up making a manip for an RPG which somehow turned into also a header and an icon! omg. So I thought I'd offer it up to y'all.

Cut for worksafe images.Collapse )

Last of the Princes
Hey, been a while, heh. Somethings wrong with my LJ cut so I'm posting the links to my stories instead.

Title: The Idiots Guide to Stargate Travel

Chapter 1: The Stargate Itself
Rating: PG
Pairings: Anything you can imagin
Summary: *grin*

1. The Stargate is the round donut shaped thing with the weird symbols on it.

Chapter 2: The Aliens; Allies and Enemies and the Goddamn Tok'ra who drive everybody nuts.
Rating: PG
Pairings: Anything you can imagin
Summary: *smirk*

1. Calling the Tok'ra or the Goa'uld snake heads is the best way to annoy them into going away, just make sure you suck up enough to get the info first o if it's the Goa'uld make sure that your far enough away that you can run and they won't catch you (the shortest distance is three galaxies, but we recommend four just incase they've got some new weapon the Tok'ra have conveiently forgotten to mention, see number 2)

Enjoy! And let me know what you think! Suggestions are welcome!

20th-Aug-2006 01:50 am - Discussion: Ages?
Codename: Echidna
Let's try a little discussion, shall we? ;)

Although their ages have never been stated on the show, if we go by their actors' ages as indicative of the characters', Weir and Caldwell have a significant age difference between them -- roughly fourteen or so years.

(TH was born in 1966; MP was born in 1952. As an aside, MP's real-life wife Arlene was born in 1966, too.)

Does the age difference matter? Do you, as a reader/writer/fan/hater of this pairing, think it matters? Especially in a sci-fi series? What sort of issues might it bring up if there was a relationship there? Would either of the characters have a problem with an age difference?

Other thoughts, opinions, questions, concerns are welcome!
